Mark Stetler joined Russell & Wright in 2011 as a member of the mortgage and financial services practice group. After law school, Mr. Stetler practiced real estate law for ten years, initially with a large law firm and then in-house. He has served as general counsel for a multi-state title insurance agent and a national mortgage quality assurance outsourcing company. He left the practice of law in 1998 to help start a wholesale mortgage business for a publicly traded housing company. Four years later, he joined a small consulting business engaged in forensic financial analysis of residential mortgage loans and was instrumental in growing that business from two consultants to 180 employees in five offices, with a client list that included the largest mortgage insurance companies in the country. Mr. Stetler’s forensic analysis business was sold in 2007 to a large risk assessment business serving property and casualty insurers and reinsurers. He later returned to the practice of law, becoming Of Counsel to the Firm in October 2011.
Mr. Stetler’s practice is focused on auditing and advising financial services companies on legal issues relating to fraud, underwriting, and insurance coverage.
